Thank you for considering a gift to the VCTF.

bequests or trusts. All gifts to the VCTF are tax deductible. Below please find information regarding ways to donate to the VCTF. If you have any questions, please call Linda Allen at 888-475-5437.

All contributions (check, money order, credit card) should be made payable to VCTF and mailed to:

United Way Gift

Designate the Vermont Children's Trust Foundation for your United Way Gift—you can designate some or your entire United Way gift to the Vermont Children's Trust Foundation. Ask the United Way for details.

Making a Gift of Appreciated Stocks of Securities or Mutual Funds

By giving appreciated stock directly to VCTF, you may avoid hefty capital gains taxes and also receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift. Gifts of appreciated stock generally offer a greater tax benefit (up to 30% of adjusted gross income) than cash. It is important to check with your attorney or financial advisor in any gift planning to make sure that you are choosing the best way to achieve your personal and charitable goals.

To make a gift of stock, have your broker or trust officer contact us.  Shares can be wired to Matthew Higgins at Smith Barney in South Burlington, Vermont (1-800-446-0193) by authorizing transfer to:

Smith Barney
DTC # 0418
FAO: 400-11705-1-5-044
FBO: Vermont Children's Trust Foundation

Matching Gifts

Matching gifts can double or even triple your contribution to the VCTF. These gifts are an important source of income to the VCTF.  Please explore your company’s gift matching policy.  If you work for a matching gift company, you must request a matching gift form from your employer's Human Resources department, complete it and return it to the VCTF.

Include VCTF in your Will

By including VCTF in your will, you ensure that your support of the VCTF mission continues in perpetuity. Such a contribution also helps ensure that VCTF services continue to reach those most in need for years to come. A bequest in a will or other estate plan can be made for a specific dollar amount, a percentage, or the remainder of an estate.  For more information about charitable remainder trusts, bequests, retirement plans or estate planning, please contact Matthew Higgins at Smith Barney at (800) 446-0193.

Other Methods of Planned Giving

There are a number of ways in which your planned gifts to VCTF can ensure VCTF’s future ability to serve children and families in Vermont.

Contribute cash, real estate, personal property, insurance proceeds, or other assets - particularly those that would cost you high capital gains tax – to VCTF.
