Nature-Based Outdoor Playgroups

Free, nature-based playgroup programs give all children and families the opportunity to connect with each other and with nature. Currently, these programs reach approximately 200 people multiple times throughout each year via four weekly meet-ups in local communities. Our family-centered playgroups help families in the Lamoille Valley build social connections, gain child development skills, and learn how to access community resources. Together with our partner in this project, the Four Winds Nature Institute, we will offer a series of nature-based playgroups through three different seasons, providing informal education opportunities for families as we model the adult role and language supporting children’s nature-based play.

ONE Arts Inc

We know that arts education increases the cognitive function of children, and we know high-quality childcare is the difference between a family struggling or thriving. When ONE Arts began, we wanted to offer quality childcare at an affordable rate with an art-centered curriculum. Over the past few decades, political attacks on the arts have caused many communities to lose arts funding. ONE Arts is proud to offer two preschools and an after-school art center to our community. Over a third of our students are from marginalized groups including include low income families, houseless families, and children of parents who are in recovery. Our schools allow these students and their families to stabilize, grow, and belong in their school home.
