Conduct a community-wide assessment of child and family needs, particulary as it relates to early childhood and family support services. Action and service plans will be created based on the results of the assessments.

To strengthen the partnership between the Howard Center and Burlington Children's Space for the purpose of providing more seamless support services for families and children.

Provide therapeutic child care option and parent education opportunities that support the healthy social and emotional development of chldren

Our mission is to cultivate a Northeast Kingdom where all people thrive free from abuse and oppression. Umbrella’s core programs include Social Change, Advocacy, and Family-Based Services. Social Change offers gender-based and substance misuse prevention in local schools and other community settings. Advocacy supports survivors of domestic and sexual violence with a variety of services. Family-Based supports include Kingdom Child Care Connection which helps to connect families to child care financial assistance and referrals and the Family Room, our supervised visitation program. Through this grant, Umbrella will offer evidenced-based prevention curriculums in child care settings in the Northeast Kingdom.

Provide support & resources that allow Vermont communities to establish, strengthen and sustain high quality preschool experiences for 3 and 4 year olds that qualify of public education funding and ensures collaborative planning and design making involving families with young children, the public schools, child care providers and other early education services providers.

To provide assistance to home day care providers to partner with area schools to offer preschool services/education.

The Vermont Community Preschool Collaborative provides support & resources that allow Vermont communities to establish, strengthen and sustain high quality preschool experiences for 3 and 4 year olds that qualify of public education funding and ensures collaborative planning and design making involving families with young children, the public schools, child care providers and other early education services providers.
