Focus on staff professional development and ongoing training and support for volunteers to further enhance the quality and impacts of Everybody Wins! Vermont's Power Lunch.

This project would create a mobile literacy center that would circulate between the six afterschool and five summer programs that Mary Johnson operates. It would promote reading, writing, dramatic play and dozens of opportunities for connection and growth in the areas of language and reading among the 375-400 elementary school-aged kids served annually

Fortify a site in WRJ and to expand other sites around the state.

This grant will allow VSA to expand its home-based, Start With The Arts early literacy program from 36 sites to 42 by adding 6 licensed centers serving an additional 85 children, with a model adapted to the particular needs of centers.

Story Enchantment All Year (SEAY) addresses the need for high-quality childcare by delivering professional development opportunities for the early childcare workforce by extending our visits and targeting content for child care professionals. With each bookmobile visit, SEAY provides book/material loans for everyone, free professional development, and story times with evidence-based extension activities for children 0-5. By focusing on social-emotional skill development, SEAY builds trauma-informed services that will reduce the impacts of adverse childhood experiences and increase kindergarten readiness in social and emotional learning.

The Waterbury Public Library will support healthy social-emotional development in young children in our community. We will do this by: * Purchasing topical children's and parenting books to the library's collection * Adding pre-loaded educational tablets that focus on social-emotional learning tour lenging collection for the first time * Providing a keep-forever book to 235 +/- local children in preschool and Kindergarten. * Hosting 2 parenting/caregiver workshops on positive social-emotional development in young children

The purpose of the program is support the development and implementation of a pilot program offering school-based literacy mentoring to kindergarten through third grade cildren. Any interested child will be matched with an adult mentor to read for an hour during lunch every week during the school year.
