They are requesting funding to purchase new equipment that will improve upon the safety and room design of their program.

Teens attending school in the Addison Central Supervisory District (ACSD) that do not participate in sports, have limited options for programming after school. Addison Central Teens (ACT) seeks to work with the Middlebury Parks and Recreation Department (MPRD), the local High School and Middle School to offer teens, as well as their families affordable, healthy and educational programs when the school day ends. Engaging youth in programming after school is essential to helping reduce the risk of youth experimenting with drugs and alcohol and it lowers incidences of truancy. Participating in afterschool programs increases graduation rates from high school and improves cognitive and physical health.

Clubhouse Kids is requesting emergency equipment funding for a commercial refrigerator to replace the failing refrigerators on site to provide safe cold food storage for the meals that are prepared in our kitchen. We believe strongly in offering food programming to our 52 young children per day to ensure their basic needs are met, which leads to more equitable learning and better health outcomes. Over 65% of our children receive state childcare subsidy and many families face serious food insecurity. Many children gain most of their daily nutrition during school. Having proper cold food storage will allow us to sustain the food program, and implement a more nutritious menu by providing ample storage for fresh produce from local farms.

A one year grant to pursue the interest of an adventure based afterschool program.

The Extended Day Program Literacy Project seeks to provide literacy opportunities every day and increase the enthusiasm for literacy while improving skill level across the grades. This will be achieved through training, games that build literacy into the day, homework practice and tracking and student partnerships.

A prevention program to reach adolescents in the county to choose healthy behaviors.

This program will help Teen DREAMers graduate from high school and pursue a form of post secondary education
