Paran Recreations is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of rural children from low income families. Therefore our goal is to sustain the access of year-round outdoor and environmental education for our surrounding community focusing on youth populations by providing at least 25% of campers with a full funded scholarship to attend our camps throughout the year.

Health / NutritionSwanton Notch Daycamp
Notch has successfully run summer daycamps for over 25 years currently offering a six week program attended by nearly 200 children in Richford and a newly added two week camp in Swanton this program has steadily grown and expanded to meet the needs of Swanton and the surrounding communities. Our goal is provide free high qualify, enriching activities to our rural impoverished service areas as well as providing access to free nutritious breakfast and lunch daily. Expansion of our existing programming from two weeks to four weeks in addition to our successful partnership with Swanton Recreation and area 21C funded programs would help bridge the summer food insecurity gap, address summer learning loss, and build community connections.

TeensTechie Teens
Addison Central Teens plans to create a program, Techie Teens, where teens are taught how to build computers. During Teen Center drop-in hours, students from their Computer Science Department will aid 4-6 teens in purchasing parts and building two computers. This program will facilitate the development of teens’ technical skills while doubling the amount of computers available in the Teen Center.

Health / NutritionTechnicool
Promote healthy use of technology among youth by educating students and adults to prevent negative technology and facilitated behavior. Through TECHNICOOL trainings, youth in grades 4-8, parents/guardians, educators, and community members receive the tools to make healthy and informed technology use decison for themselves and to promote safe choices and behaviors among others in their communities.
