A comprehensive Leadership Program will be developed and implemented in grades 3-4 (Path Finders) and 5-6 grades (Trail Guides. School and academic success will be enhanced through peer mentoring, cooperative learning, service learning, with community engagement.

Help children succeed in school through reading and math enrichment groups in after school time. Children will be exposed to and involved with activities that build on the school's math and reading curriculums.

A program for pregnant and parenting teens so they can get their high school diploma or GED, along with job skills.

Learning Together works to enable young parents to get the support and education needed to become self-supporting, contributing workers, citizens and parents.

Nature Works provides outdoor experiential programming to at-risk youth from disadvantaged families, in a farm and forest setting. Youth are drawn from RCPCC’s Learning Together alternative high school and from a local high school grades 6-9 (where they are recruited in partnership with school counselors). Project goals combine credit toward diploma, work experience for employment and mitigation of impacts of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Participants get hands-on experience with horses and other livestock, forest ecology education, and nature-based therapeutic activities.Typically half a day’s activity will take place in the woods, away from infrastructure, so shelter and water are critical. We will purchase picnic tables, hydration stations, collapsible pavilion tents and tarps for our program.
