Sparks of STEAM Building Skills for the Future

Sparks of STEAM Building Skills for the Future will give your child an educational experience that is not only inline with their interests, but also will help to further their social emotional and life skills. With the experiences they gain, they increase their confidence in their abilities, strengthen their problem-solving skills, collaboration skills, logical thinking, as well as deepen their innate curiosity, while inspiring their artistic ability. Sparks of STEAM Building Skills for the Future introduces students to scientific and engineering practices, cross-cutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas as outlined in the Next Generation Science Standards, as well as creative arts, technology, and mathematics.

Specialized Child Care

Specialized Child Care supports children in child care with physical or developmental needs, including children up to age 13 in state custody, and children and families experiencing significant short term stress. Supports include child care financial assistance, transportation coordination and securing placement in an appropriate early care program. In addition, CCR staff provide supports and consultation to early childhood educators to help develop teaching strategies, classroom set-up, program culture, and behavior mitigation to prevent expulsion from care. We embody the data which supports the value of safe, healthy and quality early care in preparing children to thrive in school and life.

Spring Hill School

We are looking for help to add supplies to our classroom to foster the creativity and collaboration of our students. Specfically, we are hoping to add large magnettiles for our students to use to create together. Students can use this material in their imaginative play and learn social and gross motor skills as they work. Focusing on materials that require collaboration naturally creates opportunity for students to build their social emotional skills and practice their self-regulation. We feel that these skills are essential for the children in our community at this time.

Starksboro Cooperative Preschool

We are requesting grant funding to purchase six carpets for the newly renovated Starksboro Cooperative Preschool. Our updated space now has a polished concrete floor, which, while durable, is cold and hard for young children. These carpets will provide warmth, comfort, and a soft surface where preschoolers and toddlers can safely play, learn, and gather. We also plan to place a carpet in each of our two new office spaces. Soft carpeting throughout the preschool will help create a welcoming, cozy environment that supports the well-being and development of the children and families we serve, while also contributing to a more comfortable and pleasant workspace for our staff.
